The Urban Jungle--Balcony Style

Sitting at my desk, looked out the window and saw this critter perched on my 17th floor railing. Crept out the balcony door and it didn't fly away.

1. NEAT!

Caught a similar creature on car window so 'shot' it, but shooting into the sun so got no such detail.

Wonderful markings on this beauty. He must have ridden up on one hell of a draft!

3. I think he is made out of a wooden clothespin. (Great photo.)

6. I think maybe it's eyeballing my pots of lantana out on the balcony

but has yet to make a move to hop down on them. They are still blooming, but the leaves are looking kind of sad after we had a couple of nights down in the 40's

5. I have several blurry out of focus shots!

I was trying to shoot from behind it and not getting a good shot. Decided what the heck and moved to within 3-4 feet away and it still didn't move. In fact, it's still out there.

7. See! I was right--wooden clothespin.

8. LOL. Actually, it has turned 90 degrees several times to face my balcony window

but is currently back sitting parallel to the top of the railing. oh, the drape was blocking my view. Now there are two! Facing off. I opened the door and the second one flew away.

Little courting going on, I guess.

He's a fine specimen well posed. After hopping and flying up 17 floors he's probably worn out, ya think?
