Burroughs mountains & Mt. Rainier

Last October my girlfriend (aka my wife of 28 years) and I *had* to go back up to Sunrise at Mt. Rainier. We had recently been to Shriner's peak, and could see the Burroughs mountain from there, so we thought it'd be fun if we could see the Shriner's peak lookout from the Mt. Freemont lookout (which you can't, BTW). So my wife says well, we gotta head over to the Burroughs to see if we can see Shriner's peak. Even though it was brisk, it was really a lovely day. A lot of visual drama for the eyes. Nice to have the smoke from the forest fires out of the way!

For those of you who are curious, this image is taken as you have come up on the top of 1st Burroughs, headed southwest from Frozen Lake. Looking directly at Mt. Rainier, and 2nd Burroughs is on the right with the gravel (aka scree) slope.

1. Awesome!

I haven't been "up" for a while and I miss it. Now I have some incentive, there are plenty opportunities in my area.

Nice shot, too!

4. Great pix, thanks for sharing.

I love Mt. Rainier, even though I haven't seen it in over 40 years. When my husband retires, I hope to include it in a road trip out west.

6. Breathtaking.

Literally, considering the altitude.
Nice vista.
