Questions about the Canon F-1:

I cleaned out my brothers apartment yesterday. He was committed to the
VA dementia ward. He loved photography and I brought home a Canon F-1
in very good condition. Is this camera out-dated? Is film still available for it?
Any advice would be appreciated.

You can probably find film for it. Processing might be a problem. brush Nov 2018 #1

Yes, 35mm film is still made-- just not so much of it and it's not so easy to find... TreasonousBastard Nov 2018 #3

Digital has long taken over the professional and accomplished amateur photography market though.

The F-1 is an excellent camera, and if you have a few lenses for it you can have some fun and make great pictures.

If you don't have a local camera store, try these guys:

B&H is a huge store with an excellent reputation and great prices. Pros worldwide depend on them. Adorama and Cameta Camera are other excellent places I have used.

Sorry to hear about your brother

And scan the negatives with a negative scanner.

I did this for years.

Just like with vinyl records, there’s a lot of young people who enjoy shooting with film. You can find the film easily even at CVS or Walgreens.
That would be a great camera to use!
Enjoy!
