2. White wine, I assume?

I would have thought that because it is alcohol, it would not freeze.
One hears of people keeping their gin/vodka in the freezer with no problem.

3. Need more alcohol

Not enough alcohol in wine to prevent freezing. You have to be north of about 50 proof if I recall correctly. (25%)

5. wine will freeze about 20 degrees

hard (80-100 proof) liquor around 10 to 20 below
151 rum about -70 and pure alcohol (everclear) around -175
