These images show that you don't need a wide angle for landscapes. alfredo Oct 2016 #3

Also you don't have flare, distortion, and soft edges you see in some wide lenses alfredo Oct 2016 #5

The first photo looks 3D. The "haystack" looking rock grabs your eye immediately.

Thanks for posting.

His camera , the Nikon D7200 has a crop sensor. His 35mm is a 52mm in real world use.

So don't let equipment keep you from trying landscape.

It is the artist behind the camera, not the lens in front of it. Now I'm depressed. 😉

Sometimes the best way to compose is with your feet. I love my Tokina 12-28 f/4 for expansive perspective, too. I also shoot landscape with a Nikkor 55-300 f/4.5-5.6. It's an awesome lens for capturing beach and surfscapes from up on the headland.

On edit: same lens.

Btw, my old Tokina 28 is a sweet little lens it gives me a 56 mm fl. It's not as contrasts as my Sigma, Olympus, and Yashinon, but I fix That in post if needed.
