and the ambient temp was pretty chilly, too. I had on thermal shirt and pants, a t-shirt, the thick fleece and the down vest and felt pretty comfortable. The gentlemen were quite helpful getting me down the bank and back up. With all that heavy gear on my back, tripod and camera - plus my bad knees - it was kind of touch and go. The sand bar was almost like quicksand, too. It was so much fun, though.

The photog in the back, however...

I'm thinking the sticks are too high and the wind is going to shake the camera.

We bought them down in Valdez a few years ago on a really muddy and rainy camping trip. We've heard that the ones made in China now aren't nearly as durable.
