Kansas City: my favorite fountain

My hometown is known as the City of Fountains. This is my favorite, Pomona.

We are partial to the Nichols fountain.

2. Where Wolf Bros used to be, next to where Bennett Schneider was, on Wornalll and Flush Creek

4. I grew up in Brookside; loitered on the Plaza (remember the bowling alley?)

I bet I know every fountain.

Did you know the eagle on Ward PRkway is over 200 years old and Japanese?

5. Bowling alley must have been before my time.

Started going to the Plaza in 1982.

We have moved away from Mo. and only get back once a year. We spent our honeymoon on the Plaza.

It was fun in the 80's pretending we were rich. The rich didn't know unless we tried to spend money.

6. I graduated Southwest in 1982

I got the fuck out in 1998. I've been back twice. I cannot believe they renamed 47th for that crook Cleaver ... but we do have that tradition of loving our crooks in KC.

8. I was stationed in Kansas City Mo

while in the Marine Corps. I remember the fountains and the park that seemed to run the whole length of the city. Not to mention Smaks hamburgers. I lived at 47 th and Troost...............
