For peeps with Spotify ... My Memorial Playlist for my Dad ...

Here's what played all afternoon and evening at the raging backyard party we threw in my Pop's honor last Saturday in Dublin, CA. Almost all stuff we listened to with Dad back in the day, along with some stuff that just reminded us (my bros and me) of him.

Any old rocker (myself included) ought to enjoy ...

Spotify is free BTW if you don't mind commercials ...

1. Looks good. I'll have to give it a listen and I'll be thinking of you & your Dad.

My Father has been gone a long time, but his tastes seemed to veer more toward "BIG Bands" on the one hand and Chet Atkins/Johnny Cash on the other.

But, he must have gotten a lot of influence from male friends in his later years because he got hooked on Bob Seger! When he passed, that was about the only thing that gave my sister and I a chuckle in an otherwise very sad time.

4. Six Hours worth ... took me considerable time to put together and sequence ...

We gave our Memorial speeches after Against the Wind and before Lights ... that 10 song section around there is the only purposefully kinda sad part ... the rest was meant to party to ... as Pops would've wanted it

5. 1944 ... Modesto, CA ... lived in Bay Area his whole life except 73-76 in Vegas ...

He was 22 when I'z born so we had lots of years to rock out together ... our first concert together was Beach Boys/Linda Rondstadt/Dolly Parton/Elvin Bishop at Day on the Green, Oakland Coliseum, Summer 1978 ... and went to many many more after that ...

6. From his music choices I think I would have like him very much.

So sorry for your loss. Music always helps me when things are sad. Remembering him through music is a wonderful way to honor him. I think he would have liked it very much.

7. BTW Mr. L

Any old rocker (myself included) ought to enjoy

What you did there?

I see it.

Some days I miss the old FM AOR stations, even though I used to get so frustrated with the truncated playlists and tendency to freeze out new artists
