This music is 41 years old. Could've been released today, most 1978 Rock is garbage, not this

David Gilmour released his eponymous solo record after Pink Floyd's "Animals", before "The Wall" and it promptly disappeared.

Well I was noodling around the inner tubes and found legendado, an animator who does stunning work and has a fondness for Pink Floyd and David Gilmour tunes

Holy hell. What an amazing album, I had to dig it out of one of my storage trunks and play it WITH POWER rather than just on my headphones with the laptop.

Because- MY NEIGHBORS ALSO NEED TO HEAR THIS. and I live in a small country town which means my closest neighbor is over 30 yards from my house. Happy to report that the Sansui Amp and JBL L112s are still up to the job

If you remember anything from that record it's probably this song (Which you probably always thought was a Floyd tune)

Overjoyed to rediscover a great album and find all these cool ass videos for them as well.

3. I must have missed it. Not trying to steal your shine Mr. L.

But I have been obsessing over these toons and the Gilmour record for a couple of days now.

I have About Face on CD - and David Gilmour on vinyl - in the same crate as "All the Best Cowboys have Chinese Eyes" - Which also got a nostalgic spin on the Denon.

I may have to post about that record as well. Not as solid as DG but Pete has some very special guitar arrangements on that one

4. Ok, the early onset dementia joke is getting less funny every day

Hey Mr. L. after I read your reply, it bugged me.

A little.

Anyway, I was kicking it around in my mind and I couldn't really get it settled in my head... So I did an advanced search in DUMA - aaaaaaaaand it turns out I recced your post in May.

So WTF man.

I guess your post was the seed that bloomed 10 weeks later.

9. She's a badass - I'm pretty sure she would've made it anyway

But having Gilmour pushing for you can't hurt.

10. Fellow Sansui freak here.

I have two in different rooms. The living room unit (AU9900) is the one I bought in '74 and is hooked up to a pair of Sansui speakers with 15" woofers and a pair of Bose 901s in the dining room, but the smaller kitchen integrated amp (AU5500) is my favorite right now. When I sit on the front enclosed porch I listen to my vintage Pioneer receiver through four Bose bookshelves hanging up in the corners. It's like putting on headphones.

I live right downtown in a small city but don't have residential neighbors. Now I'm going to put on Momentary Lapse of Reason today because of you. Thanx for posting!

11. I bought my Sansui Integrated amplifier in 1984

and have abused it used it and repeatedly moved it with no issues whatsoever.

Anvil reliable, easy to set up and clean signal even at high volume.

I rarely shake the dust out of her anymore, 'cause I'm old - but now and then I get that wild hair.

12. I would mention that I'm older as well, but...

Just speaking in Japanese stereo is evidence enough. I even had a Sansui T-shirt custom made with the logo.

15. An incredibly mixed bag of greatness and SUCK lol .. and combinations of the two even ...

But most years I'd bet are pretty much like that.

Like, I think 'With a Little Luck' is a kinda cheesy song, but I still LOVE Paul's vocals in it, esp. towards the end. It's got full Maca charm going for it.

Miss You is clearly the song of the year, followed by Baker Street, We Will Rock You, Baby Come Back, With a Little Luck, Follow You Follow Me, and Just the Way You Are.

Oh, and when I was 12 I loved everything on Grease soundtrack, esp. You're the One That I Want ... even had the 45 of that one

And Boogie Oogie Oogie was one of THE best Disco tracks ever, I don't care what anyone says.

But you'll never convince me Wonderful Tonight is a good song ... sorry.
