I have to say videos like this disappoint me.

Instead of focusing on Clapton's fretwork, we get extended shots of his back, his face, pretty much anything but his fingers during these incredile riffs.

I get the sense the editor here was definitely not a musician.

But the music is amazing.

Thanks again for posting.

Just to be sure, I wasn't criticising you. Just making a general comment on how videos like this so often neglect to show us the actual musicianship.

Best wishes.

Edited to add: I've seen that interview segment before, and we do get to see his fingers in action. But then, back to the concert, and it's back to grimacing and jump shots and such. I sense the film editor wanting to be artsy, as opposed to simply documenting the event.

Just my humble opinion.

they made sure to show us the musicians at their craft. For instance, some amazing video of Stevie Ray Vaughn.

I think we go through phases. I also think it makes a difference if the editors are musicians themselves.

Anyway, thanks again for posting, and I didn't mean to rain on your parade. Clapton's solos in particular here are stellar.

Best wishes.

....was Wheels Of Fire. I wanted Sunshine of Your Love, but that's on Disraeli Gears! Oops!
I still have that record!
I heard that live version of Spoonful & kind of went nuts. I was 14 at the time.
As a jazz piano kid, I wasn't paying a lot of attention to rock, aside from the Beatles.
Cream & Black Sabbath changed my focus.

My husband when I first met him was more into jazz too. He was a drummer and liked Buddy Rich and Gene Crupa
