I think that the Dillards are slipping away from the minds of modern bluegrass fans lately

They're kind of getting pigeon holed as old timey and a bit corny...

Maybe the are a bit corny, sure... But, c'mon people this is supposed to be good time music - don't hate 'em for trying to get some grins

Admittedly small Bluegrass community I'm familiar with.

Around St Louis there are several "New Grass" bands booking big rooms and some festivals now and again... But the older artists seem to be fading
