What are turning on? I've got a Jet 1234 mid sized lathe , a Jet mini, and my old Shop Smith Mark v
though I haven't turned anything lately.

(18,585 posts)A neighbor's tree cracked during a recent severe thunderstorm, and I helped cut it up. I have bowl blanks, and spindle blanks, and pen blanks to last me for a year (once they dry).

The wife asked for this one, for grinding up herbs for pesto. It's a food-safe mineral oil and beeswax finish.

A gift for a friend of my wife.. highly figured maple, about 9" across and 3" deep.

A small lidded box, made out of a scrap of hornbeam..
My first attempt at pyrography-
And an ash platter with a basket weave illusion..

(18,585 posts)Bradford pear bowl with pyrography. The pear was from a neighbor's yard.
Celtic knotwork on a small curly maple bowl. The maple was from the side of the road!
Finished this one this afternoon. Pyrography on a 11" maple plate.

And this one was a piece of oak firewood that had cracked- I filled the cracks with epoxy and cocoa!
And this was a piece of live oak that I hollowed, then ran through the sand blaster..
