Help!

I work at home and have an office with several monitors and when I'm not using one, I put on a web cam and I had it on a PTZtv cam and it was playing what sounded like a classical music song and I need help identifying that song.

It's a long shot, but the song reminded of the fight scene music in the Star Trek episode "Amok Time", shown below. That score is by Gerald Fried. I have no idea if the song was a true classical or a new instrumental. I hope somone can help because I really enjoyed it and I couldn't get Shazam installed on my phone fast enough to recognize it and there is no way to find out through PTZtv.

Sacre du Printemps (Rite of Spring) or Firebird

I can hear the cello part in my mind, but Google can't search on that.

There were riots in the streets of Paris when Sacre premiered in (I think) 1915.

Try "The Rite of Spring" ballet suite or "The Firebird" ballet suite

Rite of Spring has a French title of "Le Sacre du Printemps".

The Firebird has a French title of "L'Oiseau de Feu".

You can find both of those on YouTube in full. The Rite of Spring is about 35 to 37 minutes long. The Firebird is about 47 minutes.

GOOD LUCK!! Early 20th century stuff is difficult to play but fascinating!

If you'd like something by an early 20th century composer that's not quite so weird, and a little more understandable, listen to Peter and the Wolf by Sergei Prokofiev. It has a narrator too. That helps.

Star Trek FriedYour Trek music, usually the “Amok Time” fight theme, often turns up in other shows and movies, like The Cable Guy. Is it true that you recently got a royalty check because it was used in The Simpsons?

FRIED: That is true. It shows up in my ASCAP statement. It was in The Cable Guy. It was in The Simpsons. It was in Caddyshack. It shows up in things I’ve never heard of sometimes. It shows up in unusual countries, like Bulgaria. That’s great. - See more at: http://www.startrek.com/article/exclusive-interview-tos-composer-gerald-fried#sthash.yU1Cn5TJ.dpuf
