I don't know if many of you are Simon Pegg/Nick Frost fans, but this is one of my favorite personal cult films. I am watching it again to try to get my mind off politics for a while, but it's great fun if you go for that kind of thing. "Shaun of the Dead" is another great Pegg/Frost film if you feel like a double feature today.
Anyway, just thought I would offer a recommendation if you are looking for some lighthearted fun for the evening.

(6,537 posts)The Brits can do spy novels and comedy better than anyone. Have you seen the old Carry On film series? Funny, funny.

(2,301 posts)The first 80% of the movie is a somewhat of low-key and quirky dark comedy, but it's all a slow build to a preposterously wonderful conclusion.
I showed it to my friends in college and they were literally ROFLing during the final 20 minutes. Only time I had ever seen anyone in real life .

(6,537 posts)Hot Fuzz, I think, is the best of the three.

(63,221 posts)Simon Pegg also made a movie called "Run, Fatboy, Run". It wasn't really in the same vein as his films w/ Nick Frost, but it was a very amusing lighthearted romantic comedy. Great Sunday afternoon fare.

(5,440 posts)My family asked for a watching recommendation one night, and I enthusiastically told them Hot Fuzz. We watched together, but they didn't get it. I still laugh every time I watch it. I've also seen Shaun of the Dead several times.
If you love this creative team as I do, see if you can find the BBC series Spaced. They made it before they began making films. It's another one I binged on several times.
