(10,291 posts)According to the law in the USA, I am an alien. However I am most definitely not extra-terrestrial.
If you're talking about sci-fi aliens, sorry in my eyes it just has to be The Doctor.
Pick any one:

(10,291 posts)Pretty much longest running sci-fi show - first run was the day after JFK was assassinated, so it was repeated the next weekend. Had a 16 year gap - retired in 1989, with the promise of it coming back way delayed until 2005.

(10,291 posts)David Tennant is up there on my list, along with Tom Baker. Part of it too is the script writing. Douglas Adams wrote a number of scripts in the Tom Baker era.
Sylvester McCoy IMO just had rotten luck to be the Doctor at the end of the first era with tiny budgets and not as good scriptwriting, Paul McGann had worse because Doctor Who never got recommissioned from the one-off TV film.

(42,290 posts)The idea that aliens live among us and are mistaken for mental patients.
Not just that, but this alien can escape anytime he wants and is recognized as a superior being by OTHER patients.
It just confirms my theory that aliens recognize that our culture is not ready for them - yet. And they can wait until we 'grow up' socially.

(4,840 posts)that would have to be Mork from Ork.
From an episode of Mork & mindy:
"Politician: You know I'd like to thank you for the time and trouble in bringing this to my attention. Before you go, I would like to present you with one of my souvenir pens.
Mork: Look, if I wanted a pen and coffee I'd have mugged a waitress. You know what, I don't need any more pens. Look at this.
(Mork pulls a handful of pens out of his jacket pocket)
Mork: And look at that, it's a Ronald Reagan pen, it's got no point "

(6,996 posts)District 9 is one of the best sci-fi alien films ever. Witty and clever premise combined with laugh out loud comic situations separate this from your usual monster movie.
The aliens are a wonder of special effects technology. Ugly and repugnant at first we soon become very sympathetic toward them.
