The death of Kinkade has me thinking about kitsch.
My vote for most amusing example of kitsch?
It goes to Mt Rushmore.
What's yours?

I'll spare you his many works on GOP Presidents and Reagan. You can find out more about Andy Thomas at: http://www.andythomas.com/
Then there is Dave Barnhouse, who likes to paint Harleys, towns in WV and OH, and rural scenes. Here is an example called "Bragging Rights"

(18,497 posts)Or more accurately, I knew his kids and nieces nephews.
We all went to the same church for awhile. His family sang back then. And he'd do a chalk drawing while telling a little story.
Always seemed like a nice guy. Good for him.

(12,153 posts)of the Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria yesterday at a Chinese restaurant in Alliance Nebraska. At first I thought it didnt go with the decor, but then I realized it was probably made in China.
Its actually pretty neat, I think, and it has some interesting details. Theres even a sailor in the crows nest.
Have you ever visited Mt. Rushmore? I have many times, and I don't consider it kitsch. To each his or her own, though.

(12,153 posts)called them aliens. Now that you mention it, though, they do kind of look like sheep, except for having no visible ears.
If they are indeed ET aliens, they were happy that Earth was getting a savior. Nice aliens.
