3 feet away from me, always with her back to me as if to say "I don't care about you, I'm independant". But she's never more than a few feet from me when she sits there so I know she cares.
Monster used to walk across my keyboard a few times a night - just to show me who was boss.

(30,947 posts)I have 2 small dogs, one is a Chihuahua and the other is a Mini-Pin. I have a gate blocking them from getting to me. So they stay on the couch in the living room.

Lately I've taken to keeping him in the room with me or putting him out in the yard. I think the yard idea is not such a good one now since I recently bought a dozen bags of dirt for gardening and stacked them in a corner until ready to use them, but you-know-who found them and tore open every single one making a big moist dirty mess of everything particularly himself. Ugh.

The male lays behind me and right beside his ball, waiting for me to get up and kick it so he can run and fetch.

(15,758 posts)which makes typing on the laptop difficult, to say the least (heavy puddin' butt feline is heavy). Sometimes, if I'm on the couch, she'll wrap herself around my neck (lying on my chest), which is warm and less hindering.
And that explains why, when I'm working, I have to sit on a stool at the kitchen island if I want to get anything done.

(5,029 posts)There are only a couple things that can interrupt her nap. One is her walk at lunch time.
Another is anyone who grabs a dog treat out of the jar next to my door. She'll do anything for a treat. That's just how she rolls.
The last one is a co-worker, who my dog is madly in love with. If she hears Kelly come in the front door she runs to the gate at my office and vibrates until he comes by to say hello to her and to rub her belly. I've threatened to drop her off at the pound out of pure jealousy. She doesn't get that happy when she sees me.
