you were already in trouble if you were pulling on the bitey end

(102,232 posts)Sucker was sort of heavy as I walked him across the field to let him loose. I'd imagine he'll be back.

(55,007 posts)may be competing with you. LOL
I used to catch those and bring them to the barn in hopes of displacing potential rattlers. They can get hostile and will bite, but at least they aren't venomous.

(55,007 posts)I was discharged back in December finally, and it was fine until mid-May when I did a couple stupid things including bumping it pretty hard twice and not putting any compression on that leg when it started getting hot around here. It opened up in two small places and I had to go back to the wound clinic for a couple of weeks but they kicked me out just yesterday so I am hoping it will be done now for real.
(so what am I doing riding in the brush? being real careful! and I have ordered a pair of english half-chaps, which seem to just be horsey people shin guards. I tried to get my son to find his old soccer gear and let me use his shin guards but he just rolled his eyes)

(25,816 posts)We got a nice half inch rain here yesterday--a surprise bonus.
Haven't had a drop since the nice two day 2+ inch a week or two ago. Flies are really bad today, I am thinking it may try to do something this evening.
Good eye! I think it is a Zone Tail - at least it is black and has a black and white striped tail - I am not a great birder. There are some cottonwoods to my right and slightly behind me, where there is a nest. The mate to the one in the tree was just out of sight flying around. Both were lecturing me for getting near their trees.
