(10,418 posts)Sometimes I think my bipolar disorder peeks through the meds and throws me off kilter. I just start feeling like people hate me. It's paranoia, I'm sure, but it has it's roots in the reality of my youth. Those impressions over many years when we are young shape how we are. I'd hate to see where I'd be right now without psychiatric medication. Probably in the ground.
So at the end of the day when I'm feeling that way, I just have to let it all go and blow it out of my brain. It's tiresome, but I think I can sleep now. Good night.

(130,732 posts)My bad day caused by me telling emotionally fragile daughter my knowledge her deceased father 'sociopath.' Was trying to explain that knowledge released me from depression and need for meds (she's thinking of and afraid to take meds,) but didn't get far with that. I apologized, and later she 'liked' pics I took of her son today, so maybe I'm 'released.'
I hope she and you do well.

(12,132 posts)I just queued up their first 5 records plus a live one. Hadn't listened to them in a while. They are going on tour soon with Anthrax and Death Angel - I'm pretty excited about that as I never got to see Death Angel live.

(10,418 posts)Not like the classics, but still undeniably Slayer. I've had it on continuously in the car for a while now.

(12,132 posts)Probably hear a lot of it at the show so I might as well get familiar with it lol. I don't _hate_* anything they've done over the last 20 years but the classics will always be my faves. I haven't heard any of the new one - was it recorded before or after Hanneman died?
*unlike Metallica - I hate everything from the black album on. Because fuck Lars. lol

(12,132 posts)he's a good guy (well, I mean, as far as I know - I enjoy his musical work and I've never heard anything about him being a dick in real life. He was nice to me when I met him at a show - appreciated that we came out to hear him play. I haven't studied him any further than that).
