I'd love to go to Tibet. A culture terribly poor over the centuries that has managed to be psychologically/emotionally very, very rich. If we could just bottle that... it would be better than cold fushion.

I'm definitely a Western European sort of fellow. Both have professional-and-cultural-expansion appeal to me.

(1,412 posts)Punta del Este, Uruguay, lived in Argentina, and spent time in Chile. Many people speak English, so I wouldn't let language deter you from visiting any of these countries. The people are friendly, the food is terrific, and the scenery and local ambiance is outstanding.
For me, there is no place as beautiful as So.America.

Greece would be my alternate, even with their economic problems. The Mediterranean seems to have a strong draw on my heart
Of course, it would all be mostly dependent upon being able to eat vegetarian in all areas. That can be a problem sometimes...
