Tell him to keep a 4.0 for two semesters. Then he will probably be eligible for a presidential (school pres) which can usually be used to supplement the scholarship he has.

Way to go DS!

I, too, need a new roof. I have 10 more payments and it's mine. Funny thing- when you need a new roof you keep worrying that it's going to fail any day now

Yeah, we've owned (way more than 10 payments left- congrats!) this house for 13 years and the inspector said we'd maybe get 10 years out of it. When we finished a room a few years ago we exposed the rafters and noticed that there is skip sheeting and likely close to the original layer (um, from 1922?) that they covered and covered and covered ending with a composition roof.

I figure when we have it roofed the house will either sigh with relief or simply collapse

after I saw the math. For 105k borrowed, a 15 year came out to 170k. The 30 was over 300k. It has cost me about 400 extra every month, and it has been very painful sometimes, but I am almost there.

But shifted to a 15. Just couldn't quite do it when we first purchased the house - it does save Ana amazing amount of $!
