These Sprawling Skylines of Big Cities Look Epic From Street View

JAKE KILROY on March 21, 2016

Skylines are temples to human achievement, catching the inspiring glow of the sun and bathing in the tranquil silk of moonlight. From the distance, they promise. From top floors, they dazzle. At the ground level, they are beasts. Even the buildings of lesser metropolises tower like shrines belonging to old-world empires. In the megalopolises of the world, the skyscrapers impose upon the world a confidence that yawns toward the heavens, and Hong Kong photographer Andy Yeung captures big cities in all their stunning glory.

A photographer with a penchant for traveling, Yeung still shoots Hong Kong with passion. In his Look Up series, the photographer predominantly features his home turf, though tosses in China and Austria too, seeing the sky as if from the center of the (manmade) earth. He also does a bird’s eye series of Hong Kong, so you can see skylines at both their most and least imposing.

See his street eye perspective of skylines below.
