Some dog breeds tolerate it better than others. French bulldogs don't seem to care at all and I know a woman who frequently dresses her FOUR up for contests. She makes the costumes herself and most always wins. She won years worth of premium dog food, and stuff like that.

Plus, I confess I once put a bonnet on my cat. It was SO CUTE. Cat didn't like it, tho.

It's probably mildly annoying to them, but life for all of us has mildly annoying crap. As long as you tell them how "bee-yoo-ti-ful" they look and give them treats while they cooperate, they'll learn to love modeling on the catwalk. They don't understand why the hell we want them to roll over, but they do that crap, too. Doggies aim to please.

exactly but they are covered in fur so to put clothes on them on top of that I would think might be uncomfortable maybe? Having said that if I had a dog, I would probably purchase several doggie bandannas for different occasions, including St. Patrick's Day, e.g.:

liked to get dressed and some that didn't.

Had one doggie named Joe who was a dachsund/chihuahua mix, and really he was just a small black dog without much hair. He'd forever be burrowing under blankies, and often he'd dig into the dog basket of toys and stuff and bring us his sweater for us to put on him. He had a favorite too, the striped one turtleneck!

Now my current pooch Kevin just won't put up with it. I tried to put a raincoat on him and during the one walk he tolerated it on, I kept getting the 'over the shoulder I HATETHISSOFUCKINGMUCH" look. He loves blankies and his bed, but not getting dressed. He'd rather get wet than get dressed. Pffft.

I occasionally look after Chip, my friend's little Yorkie (he's very famous). I keep buying him clothes because he loves getting dressed up. I get him really posh things like cashmere sweaters and biker jackets. He looks very dashing in his tuxedo! He dressed up like Roger Federer a couple weeks ago and looked fantastic.

My last little girl Winkie would tolerate getting dressed but didn't like it very much. It was more about function than fashion for her, she had a badly broken leg from years back and had titanium holding the wee little bone together. In winter and outside walking and doing her business, I'd have to keep her warm or else the titanium would freeze up and she'd start screaming, poor thing.

Last but not least I had a Blue Merle Cocker named Blue. She was a psychotic bitch who loved us to pieces and she was mad as a box of frogs, barking at jets flying miles overhead and being obsessed with her tennis ball, and playing in the garden with our giant tortoise. I would bring Winkie home from the groomers all dolled up with bows on each ear and perfectly fluffed and clean. Blue would start messing about and playing with her, and in a few minutes the bows on her ears disappeared forever, (never did find them) time after time. My lovely housemate jokingly suggested that perhaps Blue wanted ribbons on her own ears.... So on a whim, the next time I took Blue in for grooming I asked Jose to put some ribbons on her ears. WELL! You wouldn't have just! Blue was soooo proud of the lovely blue ribbons in her ears, that she showed them to us for days! She would sit up so tall and shake her head gently from side to side, nose up a bit, all very proud! She pranced through the garden as happy as a clam, she LOVED it!

And from that day forward she never stole Winkie's ribbons again.

Not clothes but suspect "abuse" was Daphne the beagle with a "dust bust me" fetish.

We either had to hide the dust buster out of sight and reach or hide the dust buster from the beagle so the dog could search for the "treat" of multiple dogasms and human entertainment.

Daphne would drop the dust buster at your feet and bark and whine for a "treatment".

Nice way to de-flea, brush, and clean small short hair dog.

Have lived with several dogs that had holiday outfits because of women in my life.

Daphne and Essie had reindeer horns that they learned to enjoy because of me but was my contribution to said holiday outfits.

Have had several dogs that would carry dog packs backpacking.

Would not try this any of this on a cat.

Instead of squandering $50 on some dumb dog Halloween costume, donate the money to an animal rescue group.

their business is built around using the two little dogs as props and the dogs are constantly dressed in fancy little outfits and carried around to trade shows and events. Watching this has shown me a whole world of people who dress up their dogs for fashion and frivolity.
