check before you lock. Check twice! Where is the baby?

Always Look Before You Lock

Always check the back seats of your vehicle before your lock it and walk away.
Keep a stuffed animal or other memento in your childís car seat when itís empty, and move it to the front seat as a visual reminder when your child is in the back seat.
If someone else is driving your child, or your daily routine has been altered, always check to make sure your child has arrived safely.

1. I know a number of women who put

their purses just behind the driver's seat - if you have a child, maybe put it next to the car seat.

2. When I had a car seat in the back

and a young baby that I occasionally took to daycare I started putting my laptop on the floor right in front of the car seat. There was no way I could get the laptop out without looking at that car seat.

I still put my laptop there.
