For Cuba is interaction with Americans. And they should also visit our country. Have no idea why this would make a great sitcom. Perhaps you could explain in greater detail?

One can start with what is edited out of "Househunters International".

What is left in HHI is Americans saying, "I want to live in the culture and tradition" and when shown that they want to know where the granite counter-tops, dishwasher, drier and giant bathrooms are. Nobody knows what a bidet is and heaven help them if they have to climb a flight of stairs. They say they want to live city center and then complain because there are cars moving on the streets below. Or they say they want to rent a place for $650 a month and expect a mansion with grounds. Several guys spent the whole show looking for a bar with an apartment over it and another was terrified of anything close enough that the in-laws might stop by. Another couple was planning to move to I believe Costa Rica where they were told first off and then over and over again that they have a buffer zone, federal land park between housing and the beach so you can have closer access but no view or you can go up in the hills get a great view but have to drive to the beach and each and every house the couple complains because they cannot get a house right on the beach with a view.

What possibly would Cuban's gain from being around most Americans? We are loud, completely self-centered, ignorant and often rude.

A comedic clash-of-civilizations/fish-out-of-water pitch...think Newhart, Doc Martin or Fresh Off the Boat (I feel like I'm missing some huge iconic example of this trope)...set in Cuba. The series will primarily use Cuban characters as straights set against "ugly" American characters that don't really understand the culture and as a result make faux pas or find themselves in comedic situations. Probably of a sitcom or dramedy format. Single-camera. Laugh-track. (That's an elevator pitch. 20s or less. That's all many producers are going to give you to sell them on your series idea.)

I could sell it but I'd probably never watch it otherwise.

I watched "Welcome to Sweden", Amy P and brother's sitcom from Sweden. I was not familiar with the Americans that had recurring parts but afterwards I did see they were in movies etc. Who in America was that aimed at?

I personally found it amusing but not great. Thought I might be in the wrong age group.

Making fun of clueless Americans, mostly.

I do worry, a little, that for all the good American tourism will do, it will also have major negative consequences, as it does anywhere. Think hordes of cruise ship tourists everywhere.

I should get down there before Americans ruin everything, as they always do.

I hear that Carnival wants to start weekly visits to the island complete with docking and unloading hundreds of US tourists all at once coming next year. Have you ever been in Key West early in the morning when the tourists start piling off the cruise ships and invade the city?

Hundreds if not thousands of people swarm over the city, looking to spend a few bucks in a few hours before they have to board the ship again so they can travel to the next island they'll invade tomorrow morning.

I bet it will be very overwhelming to the locals to go from a couple of tourists to a few hundred all at once.

Right now, Cuba has some of the most pristine coral reefs and oceanic habitats in the world. While Cuba has been open to other nations for a while now, I fear what will happen when Americans (who are only 90 miles away) start trekking there in their droves.

Tourism brings in money, but it is environmentally destructive and pays a pittance. So I'm not sure this new relationship is all that good for the Cuban people. Great for American businesses, but pretty much no one else.

...would be a timely start. It could educate Americans on the superiority of community participation in much the same way that 'the secret millionaire' illustrates that one corporate CEO can make a difference.

is rather offensive. If Starbucks/McDonalds/7-11 stores, etc are going to pop up in Cuba, it's because the Cuban government has allowed such franchises to open. The 'Cancun' atmosphere won't happen unless the local authorities want it to.
