Heard a 60's - 70's band last night, did they ever SUCK!

A group called "Spooky Tooth."

Never heard of them before, except for one guy who was in the group, Gary Wright. Yes, "Dream Weaver"

The tune was called "Evil Woman," it was over 9 minutes long and simply sucked.

Sorry to hear Gary Wright has sunk so far. Saw him years ago and it was a pretty decent show.

It's over 9 minutes long too.
Oh, and Gary Wright was in this band before he hit big time with "Dream Weaver" and "My Love Is Alive."

In the last few years, I've seen the Moody Blues, The Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, Little Feat, the Steve Miller Band and a few others. Steve Miller was a little off, but the rest of them were still able to put on a great show.

a couple years ago to perform just one show at a local winery. Seating on the grass was $250 per ticket. Real seats closer to the stage were $400 and up. We skipped it.

Our seats in Hyannis were $65 or so, maybe less. I didn't pay much attention, as I though them reasonable at the time.

I met one of them once. Perfectly ordinary guy, wouldn't pick him out of a crowd at a fast food joint. Probably one of the many "right place, right time" people up there who retired at age 37 with $50 million in the bank and wondered what to do with the rest of their lives.

I sometimes like to remember these bands the way they were. Ian Gillan has taken care of his voice, but I won't spend the money to see Deep Purple. It is obviously not the same band, but I give him credit for putting energy into his show.

I saw Ronnie Milsap a few years ago. He is classically trained and went to a school for the blind in the Raleigh area. Seemed like he talked more than he played. He also did not play full songs. I understand these guys are getting older, so you sort of chalk it up to that.

I have not gotten an autograph of a musician yet. Once got the autograph of David Copperfield though.
