I think the Affirmed/Alydar rivalry in 1978 is one of the greatest moments of all sports history. And I don't like the direction horse breeding has been going in these past decades. If Pharoah won, I could see it confirming the bad breeding practices that are slowly destroying the sport (to say nothing of the horses).

OTOH, any Triple Crown is a helluva accomplishment, and one would have to be truly mean to wish the poor horse ill. Still, more than one beastie has found Belmont to be an unclimbable mountain.
