As for Adobe Flash, I am embarrassed to admit that I don't know.
Should it be installed?
If it should be, should I go to adobe site and ask for a download of Flash?

use Flash and it can take a while to load those.

To see if Flash is installed and the version go to: https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

If Flash is installed make sure you have the latest version.

Might be a good time to clear your Firefox cache and cookies.

Also go to Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions to see if you have any extensions that
may be slowing page loads down.

and make sure to clear that history.

I use chrome these days but back when I used FF that was one of the things I always had to do.

It's in the menu: History > Clear Recent History > Dialog Box with options for what you want cleared.
