1. Here's to the most amazing mother I know

Who looked like this at three months with our first child (here with her parents in Germany, late 1982):

Went on to bear two daughters:

Raised them for many years:

So that they eventually ended up like this:

Went through cancer and a brutal year of operations, chemo, radiation and rehab, and still managed to look like this at 60:

The only thing more amazing than all that is that she has decided to stick with me for 40 years.
Other than that one slip-up, she is a very good judge of character.

Congrats, DFW! We just hit Year 39 - the 70s were a pretty doggone good decade in some ways, 'eh?

I got a beauty who is also very even-tempered, a master chef and a wonderful mother.

All she got was cancer and me!

You and your lovely wife are very lucky to have had such a great ride, and hey, it ain't over!
