A wayward bull was looking for love in all the wrong places Monday morning, damaging cars belonging to a Hawthorne-area resident and an Alachua County Sheriffs deputy.
ASO spokesman Art Forgey said deputies were called to a neighborhood in a rural stretch of Northeast 12th Avenue north of Hawthorne at about 9:15 a.m. and found the bull charging at people.
No one was hurt. Sonia Holder said she called ASO about the bull after she peered out the window of her Hawthorne home and noticed the beefy animal munching on the corn in her garden and then mounting her car. An ASO squad car arrived moments later and the bull mounted it, too.
"Oh, he was definitely looking for more than just charging the car," Holder said Monday afternoon. "He thought the same of my vehicle, too."
