S.F. hosts first dog tech conference, no dogs attend

There werent any dogs at San Franciscos first dog tech startup conference.
Maybe thats a surprise, but the reasoning behind it is clear: dogs arent the ones developing and investing in the recent surge in products geared toward pets. Humans are. And, also, the host space Digital Garage does not allow dogs.
The Found conference was held on Thursday by San Francisco-based Pack, a social network for dogs and their owners. Megan Casey, founder and CEO of Pack, says her company views dog technology as a health and wellness industry. Connecting with dogs leads to a happier, healthier and more active lifestyle that is quantifiable, she said.
We wanted to get a group of fellow dog startups that see the same type of opportunity and solutions together into one room to say this isnt an underdog issue, this is something thats actually a really big market, Casey said.
I am
so doing a kitteh tech conference! And it'll be at KitTea, the cat cafe that's opening in SF next month.
