Super Bowl opening line is Seahawks by 2.5

That sounds right to me. I think this indicates a few things. No one thought much of the Colts. The oddsmakers got burned badly on the Super Bowl last year when the picked the Broncos over the Seahawks by - what was it, 10 or 7 points? In addition, I think in terms of physicality and speed, especially on the defensive side, I think it's really hard to go against Seattle.

Should be great Super Bowl.

What are your thought on the current odds? And what do you think the odds will be by game time?

I keep going through in my mind why the line is what it is, considering how dominant the Patriots looked in crushing the Colts today.

Another things is that it's a credit to how physically the Packers played, that they were considered a much stronger opponent for the Seahawks than the Colts were for the Patriots.

I think Seattle is a more youthful, more physical, more speedy team. All of those things should favor the Seahawks. But the Patriots are adaptive, and come up with brilliant strategies to defeat teams. It's a team playing in its absolute prime versus the wise older veterans.

Some humility and wanting a great game. I think it should be a great game too.

I just went on an NFL message board and moronic Patriots fans are predicting Pats by 30, Pats by 35. For that reason alone I'm rooting for the Hawks.

Seahawks by 10. Or maybe 42.

Last week I said it was going to be Seahawks by 14 when half the world thought it was either going to be Seahawks by less than a TD, a quarter thought the Seahawks would win by a TD and the rest thought the Panthers would win by 3...final score 31-17 Seahawks. So...

Assuming the Patriots figure out you have to cover BOTH Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson, the Seahawks will win by 10 points. Wilson'll stuff the ball under his arm and head for the end zone without even thinking about it, and the Patriots damn well better be prepared for it.

If the Patriots' defense forgets Wilson is the 2014 quarterback rushing leader, the Broncos are going to be sitting in front of the television at Peyton Manning's house slurping down bad pizza and going, "we didn't suck as bad as this, did we?"

The Patriots coaching staff is among the best ever, and they always seem to come up with new and interesting formations.

I picked the Seahawks last year even thought the Broncos were like 10 point favorites.

This year the Seahawks now are 2.5 point favorites.

I'm picking the Seahawks again this year. But I just don't think it'll be a blowout. I think the Patriots have a good shot to win.

The Seattle defense can't function properly if they don't know who they need to defend confidently or reliably. Trust that this will be important in two weeks at the Super Bowl. That leaves the outcome of the game down to the offenses. I don't see Seattle winning that battle.

Prediction: Brady gets his fourth ring and both him and Belichick can be considered the greatest QB and coach of all time with no sound argument against either.

27-20 Pats. If the Seattle defense truly gets rattled... 42-20.
