but I wouldn't just go putting cheese on any hotdog without chili.

Personally, I would get a chicago dog - actually I'd get two but I order them separately because if get them at the same time the second one gets all soggy. I can't go to Chicago every day - or even every decade - but Sonic does a really good Chicago Dog.

The concept of hot dogs with cheese isn't exactly unusual.

I'll sometimes take a hot dog fresh off the grill and make a slit to insert a strip of cheese.

But I'm weird that way. I also brush my dogs with hickory BBQ sauce with cayenne stirred in before grilling and butter my buns (my hot dog buns!) with bacon drippings and grill them lightly before assembling the thing and adding onions and brown mustard.

It seems hot dog tastes and preferences are a very personal thing. I can see us having DU hot dog wars much like the chicken wars.
