started bad but had actually started to get entertaining. Not to mention my job regularly keeps me from feeding my inner nerd and it was good being able to live vicariously through a more accomplished one.

It was the ONLY thing I watched on SyFy.
So what if it was "The Soup" for nerds? That just made it better, IMHO.
