Silly little birds!
The birdbath is full but they insist on holding onto the pond liner to sip water.

1. We need a birdbath cam!
Your description draws the picture, the camera would be bonus.

3. D'oh. It would be great but I don't have the knowledge (or funds) to do that this year.
Maybe next year.
I get a lot of exercise walking in to look out the window to laugh (and stop myself from worrying if one has fallen in). ![]() This gif always cracks me up. ![]() |

2. They are creatures of habit.
The bird feeder that I typically use to feed the birds is so filthy that I used a second feeder while I figure out how to pull the dirty one down to clean it. It's been 24 hours and the bird chorus that I usually hear in the morning is gone because the birds don't like the second feeder. They're gone.

4. They'll be back. I couldn't find the red food coloring for the hummingbird sugar mix.
The hummers came to the feeder anyway.
Your birds know the food source. Maybe the feeder just needs a bit of bird poo on it so it won't smell so new. If you have the room, hang both feeders when you've cleaned the first one. |
