A case of the Mondays

It was considered improper to partake of goose, to let blood, or to take medicinal draughts on three particular Mondays of the year. The first Monday in April was considered the birthday of Cain. The second Monday in August is when Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed, and the last Monday in December, because it was the birthday of Judas.

Also, the first day in May, the last day in April and the last day of September were considered unsuitable for phlebotomy but I could find no reason offered.
