Well, my computer will be. I plan on finishing my degree online. I applied at Indiana University East here in Richmond, sent for my transcript from Wright State, and applied for federal student aid. I was a junior at Wright State when I dropped out. If all of my general education credits transfer, it will take me 3 or 4 years to get my bachelor's degree. If I can survive 3 more winters in trucking, I should be on my way to a better life.
I had to do something. Yes indeed.

(10,418 posts)I haven't written anything in a while. You suggested that some of the stories needed to be integrated and I know what I'm going to do in that regard when I get back to it. I also have some ideas for more stories that I've jotted down, but actually getting into it has seemed too much for me lately.
I go through times like this with writing. I lose motivation. I just don't have the fire in my belly right now. If I were doing this for a living it would probably be a different story, no pun intended. I don't think I'm going to pursue an English degree. I'm more interested in a sure way to get my ass up out of that truck right now.

(47,675 posts)It isn't writer's block - it's "damn it all I've got other things to do" block.
And hey, the only story I've published was started over ten years ago and was rejected by every publisher I sent it to. They can only produce so many books in a year, so I finally said "fuck it" and self-published. I created an entity, AardTigerPress (AardTigerPress.com - which doesn't have a home page yet) and am looking for authors. Amazon doesn't pay out until your account hits a certain amount (depending on payment method), so it makes sense to concentrate works. I'm using a pen name for my next work (started in 07) and it has two sequels on the way. My daughters are all talented writers and my wife is working on a horror story. We'll just have to wait and see how that pans out.
Don't give up, dude. Don't give up. Keep a pad by the bed and write down whatever you think. Sometimes that helps you get back to sleep. Just sometimes.
Oh, and I look forward to reviewing your revision!!!

(30,947 posts)My daughter is going for her master's degree and most of it will be online. Isn't the Internet wonderful? You can get an education from your computer while sitting at your desk at home.
