I'm a really big fan of sleeping with a ...

...fan. I got used to this many years ago in the summers, when I was a child, and we hadn't had air conditioning installed yet. I just got used to the moving air. It seems so refreshing. Lack of moving air seems "stagnant" to me.

Honestly, I can't go to sleep without a fan running. I often wake up in the night and turn it off if I'm cold, but even if its chilly in the evenings, I need the fan, I just pile on blankets.

Weird, huh?

I sleep with a fan 365 days a year. I never turn my ceiling fan off.

I love sleeping in a cold room under a pile of covers and the noise of a fan is soothing. My hubby tolerates it though he swears it dries out his sinuses so we now point it the other way unless it's summer and I threaten his life.

I can't believe hotels don't have fans in all the rooms for us weirdoes.

When I had my house built, I had the builder delete all the standard bedroom fans so I could install better ones myself. The ones I installed are more efficient, move more air, and are made to last for decades. My kids are the same way too. I suppose it's because I'm pretty frugal with the AC in the summers, especially at night thanks to programmable thermostats.

bedroom - year round. Even when I have a/c on the fan stays on. I like the moving air and the faint sound it makes.

I'm glad to see that there are others like me in this regard. I had to work over a decade of midnight shift and used a a small machine about the size of a pot-pie that made a nice sound. I used to use a fan, plus I liked the air moving over me since I'm kinda' thick blooded. Now even though I haven't had to work midnights in a while, I still "need" that gently whirring sound to sleep. If in a hotel, I'll run the A/C fan all night. If sleeping over in friend's or relative's homes where no fan is available ( and/or where I don't want to make requests like that ) I I have the hardest time sleeping. Ironically, I initially got this way to cover outside sounds. Now I can't sleep easily with absolute silence either.

He would sleep with a fan blowing directly on him year round.

It seems that mosquitoes and other bugs are adverse to landing (and biting) in a breeze. The fan was a simple and cheap mosquito repellent that did not involve chemicals.

When I was married, MsMiddleFingerMom and I went with two other couples
to an Elvis impersonator show. Even though he was "just" an impersonator,
he was SO powerful and convincing that I'm pretty sure NONE of the husbands
was 100% sure that he would be going home with his wife that night.

I DEFINITELY let my wife know how much I appreciated her after that.

The place was crawling with Elvii, in all stages of his career. My very favorite was a kind of long in the tooth guy in full on white Las Vegas regalia who wasn't wearing his glasses so couldn't see the prices on anything. He kept asking me, in perfect imitation, "How much is this one Little Mama?" and so forth. I loved it!

The gift shop folks just rolled their eyes and said "Happens all the time."

Stand up fan from the '30s. Memories of hot summer nights with the long silkky hair of a beautiful woman blowing all over me.
