I am glad I stockpiled the 3 packs from Sam's. I don't care if there has been a recall. I'm still using them because I can tell the difference between Excedrin and another pill (if they were mixed up) and a few busted pills is nothing to worry about. That was just about the dumbest recall ever.

which seems to be sold in the Deep South of the U.S., and only at gas stations and convenience stores. Maybe drug stores too, I never went in one there. But it's a packet just like a packet of sugar, but it contains aspirin, acetaminophen, caffeine and sugar, all ground to a fine powder, to take effect faster. You just dump it into your mouth and wash it down with anything - I used the super-spicy ginger ale that seems to be popular in the south. In 15 minutes my headache was gone and I felt like a new person. But ibuprofen is the "magic" painkiller for me.

That's for something like a headache, which otherwise will stick with me through a sleep and/or 2-3 dosing periods.

Chronic pain I've never had to deal with.

Generic is fine.

BC powders are great. I used to take ibuprofen for cramps....but my body hates it.

I would never take Tylenol.

It seems to build up some sort of tolerance with me quickly. But if I haven't taken it in a while and have a headache or other pain, it knocks it right out.

After all, heroin is the most effective painkiller you can buy without a prescription.

I can't take anything else, not even prescription pain meds. They all tear up my stomach. I have awful stomach pains, especially with anything codine based.

not really? This is what one of my co-workers does and claims it is like taking vicoden. (she said this in earshot of quite a few people too)

I wonder how her stomach and liver like this?

personally I go with the excedrin too. (works fast)

30. Tylenol for headaches; buffered aspirin for muscle or joint aches

For severe sinus headaches, my drug of choice was Tylenol with Pseudoephedrine, but due to an overreaction to the proliferation of meth labs, this is now extremely hard to find, and Tylenol PE just doesn't do the trick. (I avoid Ibuprofen because it upsets my stomach, so no Advil-D for me.) I have bought the equivalent on my trips to Europe with no trouble, and I make them last, saving them for only the worst headaches.

It's the one item I list as "allergy" to meds. The one time it was given me by a doc, I thought I was going to die. Tachycardia. Never ever took it again.

Aspirin for breaking a fever and for tension headache's, Ibuprofen for sore muscles and for minor arthritis pain, Naproxin for more serious pain in my joints. All work quite well. Tylenol is worthless for me for anything. And Bourbon or Gin so I just don't care about the pain.
