My big, beautiful boy sits right next to my head and grooms himself. He makes that lick-lick-lick-lick-lick sound and it drives me absolutely up a wall.

(205,074 posts)Tommy enjoys standing on my keyboard, likes to get between me and the computer screen. He likes to conduct experiments with gravity and push off anything I have up here so he can watch it land on the floor. One of these days, he's going to make his first post, LOL...

(342 posts)to occupy the chair that I want to sit in. I don't know how he does it but if I'm headed to the computer I'll find him curled in the computer chair. If I desire to kick back in my recliner, there he'll be. He doesn't fuss whenever I pick him up and move him. But I don't go to the bathroom and come back expecting the chair to be empty. Yep, there he is. Mind reader. That's what he is.

(50,566 posts)He's a sneezer. Specifically, he'll come check out my face in the middle of the night when I'm sound asleep and then, from a proximity of about an inch away, proceed to sneeze all over my countenance.
Lovely.

(20,487 posts)aaaaand...ACTION!
our maine coone gingerly walks up to my head. he lightly taps my head with his paw. he waits a second to see if i respond. he extends his claws and taps again, more forcefully, then lightly mews. he waits again. he extends his claws again, pushes them against my skull and mews louder. he continues this escalation until i get up and let him out the back door which HAS A KITTY DOOR!!! then five minutes later he decides he doesn't like it outside and comes right in THE KITTY DOOR.
repeat at 4:45 AM just 15 minutes before i have to get up anyway.
Kitties. Gotta love 'em!

(21,846 posts)He likes to sleep near my head and licks me while I'm trying to sleep or when he thinks I should get up in the morning.
I hate it! I tell him that I don't like it and I stick my head under the covers so he can't lick my face but he keeps doing it.

(32,078 posts)Right as I'm trying to fall asleep in bed. I hate hate hate it. She also parks herself on my lap, and then pitches a fit when I change position when her weight causes my leg to fall asleep.
No. My cat is not spoiled. I swear to the Flying Spaghetti Monster, she's not.

(115,658 posts)Jeoffry licks me. And licks and licks and licks until I'm covered in cat spit. And he sits on my right arm when I'm at the computer so I can't do anything, and refuses to leave. I shove his fat ass off me and he comes right back.
Milo does this passive-aggressive thing where he waits until I've almost fallen asleep, then he tries to knock over the lamp on the table next to the bed. I yell at him and he stops. Then he waits a few minutes and does it again. And again. And again.
Pixie picks fights with the other cats for no particular reason, almost always at night when we're all sleeping peacefully on the bed. Then all of a sudden there's all this hissing and screeching and running around, which wakes me up. When I read in bed she stands on my chest and points her butt at me, just a few inches from my face. And she chews on my hair.
I do love them, though.

(50,566 posts)My stomach hurts from laughing at this thread. I can so relate to almost all of these pet peeves (pun intended). But, the nuttier kitties are, the more I love 'em.
on edit: As if on cue, the second after I posted that one of my kitties started doing that "heaving" motion and proceeded to puke on my computer desk.

(34,133 posts)Which are now shredded. If I want to open my windows this spring I'm going to have to re-do the window screens for this room!
The really annoying part is that I will let him in the front door. He goes upstairs and hassles my husband until husband comes downstairs and lets him out the back door. Five minutes later, the cat is shredding the screens so I let him in the front door.
Repeat at five to twenty minute intervals all weekend and every evening. My theory is that he wants to make sure we get sufficient exercise.

(118,577 posts)rub her belly which she likes. And I fist bump her head - she'll head butt in reply. She likes that too.
