(46,262 posts)I have 7 grand-nephews and grand-nieces now, ranging in age from 18 (!) to 2.
I'm afraid we're all getting older...
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,298 posts)It sure beats the alternative!
And I find that being around young people is good for me...
I don't just focus on old folks and their aches and pains. Young people see the world differently, and it's good to be exposed to that.

(46,262 posts)The "middle kids" and I get along the best.
Mainly due to our love of videogames.
But even the little ones can be delightful.

(9,298 posts)Most beautiful child - in the middle photo, is she saying, "You rang?"
This helps me project out a bit with my 17-month old one and only grandson. Many changes are fast coming I can see....and all of them wondrous.
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,298 posts)It does rather look as though she's saying that!
Watching your grandchild transition from a baby to a toddler to a child is an amazing thing...And I always find myself thinking she's not a toddler any more......she's a little girl, and it feels as though she did it overnight.
Enjoy your grandson!
There's nothing quite like watching your own baby have babies!

(1,957 posts)Although today there are great cameras that can grab every look you can zero in on there are still so many times that something happens when you are not fast enough to get that pic. I think back and wonder how many great shots that could have existed decades ago when the only photos were studio made. They were good, some even great but it didn't always capture those first steps, that first birthday cake, smile and never did it capture the sounds of giggling or those first words!
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,298 posts)I love the speed and immediacy of digital.
Plus no more waiting for the studio to make your prints...
I will never shoot film again. Digital is just too good!
