And the driver has called me multiple times asking where I live. I am house sitting I do not know how to get to where I am without Googling it. It is not within my ability to direct him to me. I asked him to forget it...
I am hungry, I have no recourse.
I am not angry just frustrated.

(20,176 posts)My kid brother used to deliver pizzas and Italian cuisine (under CT state law they can and do also deliver bottled beer and wine so that raised his tabs fairly substantially as the markup is about 100% over retail)...fairly decent shop so bit nicer than the average pizza shack.
Standard pay was around $9/hr plus tips plus mileage. He'd make $300-$400 on an average Friday (Correction: He just corrected me, average weekend Friday night and Saturday afternoon.) In addition, the yearly subscription for his GPS and the cost of the unit is fully tax-deductible as a business expense. The IRS will allow you to write off a new GPS every 24 months.

Meanwhile out here, pizza guys are a PITA, go way too fast on hilly and curving suburban streets. If they every find my mangled bike and corpse covers in Cheese and Pepperoni, don't act shocked.

"Oh, we decided not to do that, because we don't really know that part of town so well"
They had my phone number
How hard could it have been to call back and "Um, dude, we decided not to drive you"?

(28,749 posts)Yes and the pizza place never called me back either... They had my number.
I eventually just went over and ordered there, turns out I could walk to it so I did. I had to be real stealthy about it though so they didn't do anything to my food!
Oye.

(12,132 posts)I delivered pizza for a long time in my youth - way before google, smart-phones, GPS...We had a map on the wall that covered our area and I never left the shop without knowing where I was going. On the rare occasion I couldn't find an address I had to stop at a pay phone and call the customer. In the SNOW! Up a HILL! TEN MILES!...wait, no, that's a different "you kids got it easy today" rant...
