The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsOK, that's it. No more.
I've listened. I've commented. I've tried to see both sides. GD is not the place for calm today.
I won't go back in there. I can't handle all the drama. I'm hiding out in the lounge for the next week or so. There's just no right side to take on the Zimmerman thing.
I'm ashamed to be a Floridian.

(3,065 posts)but after reading all the posts about how crazy Florida's laws are and how this verdict was such an injustice, I can't disagree.
The term Floridiots is very fitting and I think any contribution I try to make will just backfire and start a flame war. So I'm just gonna sit back and lurk for a while.

You enjoy the beach. I wish I still had a place down there. Florida needs more people like you and me.

(3,123 posts)I was over in GD and they're still climbing the walls with the verdict! Yikes!
I feel sorry for you and all the Florida DU'ers and progressives right now. I know only 2 people living down there, and the last time I visited was in 2001 when I went to Tampa for a church convention. It's beautiful in some spots, but the climate down there now has to be intense as shit!
Sorry but if I go down south from MD for anything it'll be to visit family in GA.
Hang in there.
