My "viscous" Pit Bull freaked out - barking at it, charging at it a few times & then running away again, and pouncing on it several times. This went on for about 10 minutes.

She didn't even kill the thing.

than the more common "bully-breeds" like German Shepherds, Chow-Chows {I've got one}, Bouvier des Flanders {I've had one}, Rotties, and Dobies, just to name a few.

My Chow Chow and Pug:

What's her name and how young is she?

She's really beautiful, baldguy. And still a "pup" at six. My pug saw his 10th b-day last February 2nd, and my Chow is about to see her 10th this October 13th.

Thank you so much for sharing. Absolutely beautiful dog.

aren't considered a bully breed. Dobermans aren't either. The short snout is the mark of a bully breed.

Although my Chow is a darn good guard dog and isn't friendly toward strangers {or guests}, she's as docile as a pup when I take her out for walks or when we see her vet. Two vets have told me she's considered a bully breed, as are German Shepherds and Dobies. I asked her what she meant by that, and she said "high risk" dogs. And because we have a Chow, our home owner's insurance is far more expensive than people with the same policy who don't.

But to be technically correct, a Bully Breed is any breed of dog that has bull dog in its line, not the short snout. I the short snout places a dog in the bully breed category, that would include Pugs and Pekineses, and somehow I don't believe they belong there.

That's Elvis - or Elvie - our other and younger Pug.
