Not such good news for my nephew. He wanted so much to attend the Boston area to be closer to his cousin. But, alas, he's on a waiting list. He got a full ride to FSU, and good packages for other schools, but he had his mind on one particular college that would bring him closer to my daughter. Except for Miami, my family never seems to get a chance to make a beach head anywhere.

Maybe it's my turn to ask for good vibes from fellow Duers.

They wanted $8K/semester. That ruled me out. I so wanted to go there.

My eldest is graduating from McDaniel in Westminster, MD. That's a $40K/year school and all but about $2k is from grants, scholarships, and a small amount of loans.

My nephew has other offers to consider. It will just be the repeat of two generations for my family. New state and no connections.

My wife will always be my best friend, but he's a close second. He grew up about 3 miles from the campus. That was before Lowe's, WalMart, Subway, McD's, Ledo's, Target, and all the other shops popped up.
