Thank you in advance for any assistance.
I have a dear friend who lives in St. Augustine, who is in the midst of a sudden divorce. His wife left, taking their only car, and he is currently facing cutoffs on his utilities and a large amount of back rent because she basically just pretended to pay the bills for two or three months. I know that in WV, there are emergency programs available to people who face utility cut-offs, but I have no idea what is available in Florida, and I gather neither does he. I've been Googling and I sent him the Florida LIHEAP link, but if anyone here could provide more or better information, I would be grateful. He is employed, though he is low income, and he basically just needs some temporary help to keep the water, lights and heat on, and, if such a thing exists, help catching up his rent for this month. If anyone could point me to specific state, county or local programs or agencies that might be able to help him, that would be wonderful.
Thanks again for your advice.
