Out of those 6 posts, ONE of them DID get recs -- SIX of them!!! But it was
still sliding on down neck-and-neck with the 5 that did not get any recs.
.
There's a number of people in The Lounge who post regularly -- finding stuff
that will make you laugh, interest you or provide some relief of some sort or
another. You might think of a reply (even that "k" as a little pat on the back
recognition of their efforts and an active expression of your enjoyment. It's
such a freaking SMALL effort on the viewer's part -- but it would be a BIG
boost to the morale of those posters.
.
.
.
If you don't get ANYTHING from their posts, don't do anything. And sometimes
not doing anything EN MASSE -- that's the message you're passively sending.

(390 posts)post stuff that interests people. I posted a favorite restaurants post..got lots of views and comments and I enjoyed reading about others experiences.
If you want to get feedback, posting "favorite" type posts will get you a lot of responses because people are eager to share their stories and experiences.

... or funny to add. Sometimes, I'll use the thumbsup or applause smilies to
interact and let them know that I appreciated what they posted. Not all the
time, but once in a while.

Participation by casual visitors is WAY up right now, so these numbers are
off... but normally, a good post often gets somewhere in between 10 & 25
views per reply.

(6,011 posts)I was looking at Facebook and a fly landed on the right side of my computer screen. I noticed something moving slightly on the column of tiny 3/8" profile pics of FB friends... the fly was rubbing its "hands" together over a famous former S.F.talk show host's head, as though it was giving him a scalp massage.

(4,299 posts)The Lounge, for me, is the best place in DU.
And MFM is the best thing about The Lounge.
