They cite the Dead Parrot sketch starring Graham Chapman and John Cleese when it was Michael Palin and Cleese.

Palin only acted in the skit cause he does sneaky better than Chapman. Plus, I don't think the Pythons ever made a deal about acting in skits they wrote themselves.
