And I say this having just transfered $$$ to my kid's college bank account, some of which will be spent in ways I wouldn't approve of...
But I remember what my mom says:
"Someday a bag lady is going to show up on your doorstep, and you're going to say 'Hi Mom!' "
I know it's true because that's exactly what happened with my grandma, and I think the family tradition goes back many, many generations, probably to Neanderthal times.
