2. That's cute
I had a cat that would take a super ball, one of those little ones, into the shower--we had one of those tub showers with a sliding glass door--and bat it around in there. He would also play fetch with it if you threw it down the hall, watching in the full-length mirror at the end of the hall to see where it went.

3. I'm going to guess that the cat has been declawed.

4. I hope not. It's a barbaric practice. Most cats can retract their claws when they want to.

5. Yes, it is barbaric and I know that it's not legal in England anymore.
Don't know about anywhere else.
And though cats can retract their claws, they often put them out when doing things like this. I'm essentially a crazy cat lady, would NEVER declaw, even though it can be somewhat annoying to have my cat scratch me. It's still a fun video. I'm glad it was posted. |

11. I'm glad to know that.
My current kitty is a rescue I got from the local animal shelter. Not declawed.
Once she came to live with me I figured out various things about her, including that in her previous human home she lived with large dogs and men. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out if I should keep her, but I felt that bringing her back to the shelter really wasn't a good thing to do. It took me a long time to finally accept her as she is. It's been interesting to see how she's changed in the three and a half years she's been with me, and how I've changed also. Alas, she's not the lap cat I wanted. But she's very affectionate in her own way, spends lots of time in my company, and mostly sleeps with me at night. I long ago told my son that if he ever has to put me into a home that I'm not able to be part of the decision to place me there, that he absolutely must find a place that allows cats. By the time I was three years old I was bringing hope cats. My mother, god love her, did not like cats, and was very diplomatic about letting them go. I could never possibly be so senile I wouldn't want to be around cats. I can imagine I wouldn't recognize anyone else in my life, but cats? Yeah, they will always be there for me. |

12. NY passed the law against declaring cats a few years ago.
My current cat is 7 years old. When she was a kitten, her vet asked me if I wanted her declared. I said that I would never do that to a cat. Next visit, the vet brought it up again. I was annoyed and said again that I would never even consider it.
I was glad when it became illegal. |

10. Probably declawed was my first thought and, though this is usually inappropriate, it at.....
.....least protects the cat from the potential trauma of an errant explosion.

6. Inky, my dear little Burmese "supercat," did that with a balloon.
Hilarious to watch her!
She also loved hazelnuts! She would bat one around 'til she wore herself out! If it went down the stairs, she would go down, get it in her mouth, and bring it back up, and continue the game! |

7. My cats loved doing this with balloons
until too many of them burst... and then the "fun" went out of them completely. Now they won't have a thing to do with them. They'd much rather play with their own toy's, or the dog's.

9. My cat chases and swats bubbles from a bubble blower.
But of course, then they burst and she has to wait for me to make more bubbles for her. If they land on the floor and stay intact, she steps on them.
